What are the indications for performing double strand DNA fragmentation of semen?
This is usually done when the couple is unable to conceive after several fertility treatments, although there are also other indications:
- Chronic diseases such as diabetes.
- Male smokers.
- Infertility of unknown origin (after ruling out female pathology).
- Repeated fertilisation or implantation failures.
- Obtaining poor quality embryos after IVF/ICSI cycle.
- Repeated miscarriages.
- Advanced age of the male
