Every year Spain attracts between 20.000 and 50.000 health tourists.

In Spain health tourism is growing every year with an average of 20.000-50.000 patients per year.

In Europe 9 million people travel every year for medical reasons. It is estimated that this number will increase to 90% in 2020.

Spain receives patients mainly from countries like Germany, Holland, England and Sweden and the most requested specialty is cosmetic and plastic surgery. 

French, English and Italian patients are the ones who travel the most to Spain for performing fertility treatments.

Most patients (68%) come through internet, 15% through mediating agencies and 8% have got directly a medical prescription.
